Lions Bluff Lodge is situated in the Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary 50 kilometers from Voi town and bordering Tsavo West National Park.
The Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 46,000 hectares in the heart of the Tsavo Eco-system, in Taita Taveta district in Southern Kenya.
The lodge is set along the shoulder of a hill allowing guests to enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Kilimanjaro from the comfort of their rooms during the early morning hours.
Also, wedged between Tsavo East and West National Parks and Taita Game Sanctuary, the sanctuary is a significant dispersal area for elephants and other species of animals and a migration corridor for the elephants and other game.
The area has a rich variety of flora and fauna. Key fauna resident in the area include lion, elephant, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, aardvark and antelope such as the eland, oryx, dikdik and kongoni.
Bird lovers can capture pictures of different species that the sanctuary homes by enrolling for guided ornithological walks for a small fee.
The habitat includes the Mwashoti, Mwakitau and Ndola Hills and Lion Rock, which is an important breeding site for lions.
Community based projects can also be visited.
Come and enjoy the scenic beauty of the woody rolling savannah, remnants of highland tropical forest and the panoramic view of Mt. Kilimanjaro amidst clouds. Of all the experiences that a wildlife safari can bring, there are few moments that are exciting and memorable as your first sighting of animals in their own habitat.
Activities such as day & night game drives, cultural trip, Bush walk, ornithological walk, Sundowner, Bush breakfast or lunch and camel bush walks can all be enjoyed at a little extra cost.
